Changing radio

Featured Replies

Hi all I'm changing my stream MP3 radio to a pioneer app radio double din. I have the quad lock addaptor just don't know what trim I need to cover the hole around the radio now can anyone help?

Probably need an aftermarket one from local motor shop.

Sent from my Galaxy S5

Yeah it will need to be aftermarket.

It will fill the gap left by the stream stereo and convert it to a double din gap basically.

Oh and don't forget you will need to run a switched live from the fusebox for an aftermarket stereo otherwise it won't switch off/on with the ignition.

You need to go to Skoda and get one for it to be 100% correct colour etc

Oh, and just the quadlock connector is not all you need. You will need to find a switched live in the fuse box and run it to your headunit

Į.have The quad lock ant switched live already aš į.have a parrot handsfree in my car. Do. You know part numbers for the trim?

There isn't a skoda part number for the trim, you will need an aftermarket double din kit for your car as the stream MP3 is not a standard double din fitment.

Probably something like this: https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects2-ct23sk01a-skoda-octavia-2004-double-din-fascia-panel-kit.html

You can also get just the facia: https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects2-ct24sk07-skoda-octavia-double-din-cd-stereo-fascia-panel.html

As above, you will need a double din adaptor and then facia from skoda.

The pos and switched live will also need swapping round at the headunit loom too

You don't need any parts from skoda

Fascia, cage, quadlock adapter, aerial adapter and an "add a circuit" fuse if you don't have a switched live is all you need

The facia from skoda so you get a part which matches in colour etc

The radio I'm getting already comes with a cage for the radio to slide in to so does that mean all I need is the facia to cover the front or are there bits that the cage from the radio needs to go in to be held in place?

is it a single din or double din radio?

Either way you need a proper fitting kit. When you remove the oem unit you will just have a big hole. This is why I mentioned conctating skoda as they build a kit for exactly this job

clearly says double din pioneer in the first post .
