i actually think thats quite nice, very euro looking

should be some folks that like this stuff though... :D

The carbon fibre bonnet for the Octy doesn't look like a very good fit in the first image. Seems to be mis-aligned with the drivers side wing.

Would be interesting to know if it's just the picture!

not into the over the top stuff Royston? isnt the VAG scene really i know

but i thought the Carbon Fibre Bonnet might interest a few people

if nothing else its a good diversion to see what crazy stuff there is for our cars

keeps you busy for a few minutes! ;):D

Carbonio do a great range of carbonfibre accessories for VAG cars, although I don't think they've developed a carbonfibre bonnet as yet.

The Octy kits on that site are puke worthy but I admit that they've done a decent alternative job on the Fabia's

Some of them are pretty poor but there are some that are ok.

There are two different WRC wings too. Both of which are fairly cheap!

Hmm...... this one could almost be EddyH's Octavia ;)

I see they also have a carbon fibre engine cover to replace the plastic one. Considering they are carbon fibre specialists I think they've messed up on this one - it weighs 6kg !

It looks like a lot of the carbon is wet lay-up so sometimes that can actually end up quite heavy. A Pre-Preg carbon bonnet would be hellishly expensive though. but would look good

I have a fair bit of carbon kicking around, got a roll of pre-preg off a mate "dahhhn saaarrf" and make my own little bit's and bob's for motorised bicycles.

Sometimes cheaper carbon does not like UV / bright sunlight and can fade really badly and also become brittle.

Often wondered about companies that make carbon bonnets though, must have some hoooooog autoclaves to cure it, me I have got an old diplomat leccy oven and a bosch paint stripping gun :)

At work we use a company in Brackley for some CF stuff. Their autoclave is large enough to cure F1 car under trays etc.

I imagine they have a rather large energy bill !
