How can i get this silicone turbo outlet pipe to fit? HELP!

Featured Replies

So i guys i  got a silicone pipe set for my octy and just trying to fit my last pipe so its ready for the dyno day at the end of the month and ive removed the standard pipe but cant get this silicone one to fit.. it seems to be cut at an angle on the side that fits to the metal charge pipe what the dump valve dumps into.. when the pipes on and i try to tighten the jubilee it starts to slip off as it gets tighter so i tried to straighten it and it hasnt helped the jubilee clip slips when i tighten it. how can i get this on it came off a car before i bought them i believe when they took them off they must have damaged the pipe slightly..

need to get it sorted before the end of the month so can get it on the dyno!

ive attached a pic of the pipe, it fits on the turbo outlet just behind the engine..

help would be very much appreciated!

Just recently, I kept having the hose clip pop off at the metal charge pipe end, not the turbo end. Blooming infuriating but a 30 second fix. I was going to go either silicone version of the pipe or new OEM pipe. In the end, I put on a proper genuine Jubilee clip for a quid and it has been perfect since. Maybe your hose clips are old, deformed and/or rubbish? You could try loosening the metal charge pipe to give yourself a better angle to put the hose and clip on.

This is what kept happening to mine:

im having the same problem just mines comes off as im tightening it.. i think its the pipe as its cut at a ****ty angle and this jubilee has never been undone since factory but still could be the jubilee.. as im tightening it starts to slide towards the dump valve dumping pipe then just slips off

while were on the topic should there be oil in this pipe. ive got a slight film of oil inside it..?

I had a different silicone hose but a similar issue. It was the smic to throttle one. I found it trying to ride round and pop off the throttle body, so as Mankee says I got the best new jubilee I could find, the largest I could get away with and fastened the dodgy end first, securing the cooler end where the pipe was rested. Did the trick, although I dare say you've less overlap length to play with.

didnt bother touching the car yesterday but now that you mentioned it the original jubilee has this sort of cover inside so that it dont dig into the pipe and that could be causing it to slip off
