So I've been thinking.. Upgrading to a gtb

Featured Replies

Thanks for the info guys much appreciated.

Might as well go for the 270-280 with the nozzles too and tubular manifold.

why are you even questioning it you have been in mine, that was enough to make your mind up to just buy the gear and lets get it fitted

no questions fit a tubular, use a stock 2260 none of this hybrid rubbish, go for stock nozzles run 2.4bar with low smoke and keep the EGT's sensible, once you got some more cash fit race nozzles and remap to suit

reasons for tubular = lowered overall EGT's, better heat dissipation, more surface area, ease of fitment

reason for stock 2260 = been tried and tested they work do the job perfect on a stock 1.9PD if you must go billet wheel for a 6 blade billet and not a 11 blade billet comp wheel

nozzles or no nozzles is a question of cost you have to spend

if you want low smoke map expect around 260bhp (with nozzles) and a lovely smooth flat power curve

if you want it to feel quicker as it spools and pull harder to the limiter you have to have smoke! expect a 10-15bhp gain,

This is keeping the boost levels around 2.4bar

or go mad push the turbo hard 2.6+bar lots of fuel and strangle 280bhp outta it but how long it will last and if you can live with the smoke?

Yours wasn't finished though was it? When I went out in it you hadn't fitted nozzles?

How could I check the info with only your Briskoda username to go by?

I always thought your replies sounded like talking to a grumpy old man, seems I was correct. :)

I meant the factual info, not the personal stuff.

And you are indeed correct, I dislike having to speak v e r y  s l o w l y to volatile teenagers with stupid ideas who can't read or spell but think they can drive.  :sun:

Just for sakes of comparing performance.

Compared to a friends MK2 Focus RS running a CP400 kit (around 400bhp) my old fabia had a higher trap speed over 1/4 mile, 105mph vs 109mph, however the RS was slightly quicker to the line. Longer revs and slightly more grip helped suspect.

Over a longer distance the fabia just didnt have a top end of the RS but it was fun trying lol

You shouldn't be surprised to hear that probably 75% of all the motorport companies I've ever worked for went bust. Most of them do.

I take three-month contracts, get paid a day rate and never do more than three contracts in a row and I never work for the same firm more than twice. Because they go bust

Would hate to have those facts on my CV!

Like I have anything to do with how the companies are run or financed, I don't care as long as I get paid. It's worse in new-build construction.

different car completely then, soz thought i'd taken you out
