Alarm horn replace

Featured Replies

My factory fitted alarm horn finally gave up working... Anyway I am looking for best possible and long term solution...

Horn catalog ID is 1J0 951 605 and it has a built in battery which last for some time and then go off... Brand new one is way expensive and the used one I would like to avoid because you never know when it will go off... CCM give code: 01134 - Alarm Horn (H12): No Signal/Communication.

Is there anyway to put generic/universal 12V alarm horn?

I know it would request some rewiring but would it need some CCM recoding too?

Any advice is of-course welcome.

you could replace the battery pack  do a search it's been on here before re Mk11'ss

mine hasnt got one i dont think ? where are they located

behind the mudshield   drivers side I think

had it six years never had a siren is it an option ?

?

I seem to remember this subject being discussed about 6 months ago, and in a nutshell, it comes down to the vrs never got an alarm unless it was specced at point of order when new.

Even then it seems to be a grey area whether any were ever supplied, most people seemed to go for the Sigma alarm at the time.

Thank you for your replies. Unfortunately I already tried to replace a battery  pack but that didn`t work out so I am looking for some other solution. It seems that for me it would be the best to stick with the used one that is functional until its batteries go out.

Thanx once more

Cheers
