More egr advice please...

Featured Replies

Hi all, well cleaning of my egr hasn't helped the problem of my warning light and within a few miles of having it back it flashed on again. No performance drop or limp mode, just the light on.

My mechanic seems to think most issues are caused by the electrics going wrong rather than a mechanical problem.

I am now looking at blanking it off and getting it mapped out.

I have seen Darkside blanking off kit including a whole new valve and gaskets. My question is this, there are also blanking off plates for a third the price and my mechanic thinks that he can install one of those and use the original valve that he cleaned out.

What is the difference to it? Some blanking out plates have a hole in them too... What are the differences in design and what is the best option. Thanks

Don't quote me on it, but pretty sure you don't need to have those coded out, just a case of blanking it off or removing it.. Mines is a 2012 and I've had that coded out, 1.6 TDi.

Someone with better knowledge will be along soon!
