Bluetooth 2009 Superb SE 170bhp

Featured Replies

I have the SK-3T0 035 156B headunit fitted to my superb, but I haven’t got Bluetooth installed. So I’m looking to add the Bluetooth module.

Is 3C8 035 730D the module I need and what functions come with it?

What's the difference in the C, D & E versions?

I see other versions listed http://www.carsystems.pl/bluetooth-kits-parts,c32.html

Will I be able to stream music? And will caller display appear on the touch screen radio?

Thanks Kevin

Hi Greg,

Thanks again for the info, so if i want a unit that does everything it's the

3C8-035-730-E UHV-Premium 9IC/9W4/9ZG BAP Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes 22/2014 WiFI Support

I want? I wasn't sure what the versions were, I thought they were maybe specific to a certain radio.

Cheers

I have the Bolero head unit which is standard in the SE, bought the E version kit off ebay and had it installed and running in less than an hour. Thake the easy route and use the space behind the glovebox to mount the module, run your wifi and microphone up the passenger side A pillar. You do need access to or someone with VCDS or get th dealer to code it for you.

Hi Cregg,

I was gonna mount it under the driver seat, but it would be a better job if it wasn't seen.

I have the cable with VCDS, have it a few years now, so I should be OK with the coding.

Thanks for the info and help.

Cheers

Thanks Dude,

The original code was 020000000100000000000101 and i changed it to 020000010100010000000100 and the bluetooth seems to be working, whats the difference in the code 020000000100010000000101 that you suggested?

Thanks

The last four digits need to be 0101 for wiFi hotspot to work properly. The other differences will be largely cosmetic but may remove some errors and format the address book differently.

Hi adamal, thanks for the info. i've changed the last 4 digits to 0101, how do i activate the wifi hotspot? what menus in the car?

thanks..

What phone do you have? The hotspot mostly depends on this as it needs to support rSAP.

If you have an iPhone or Windows phones I'm pretty sure you're out of luck and I think even android support is patchy at best.

i have a samsung galaxy s5 and an iphone 4 16gb for music.

i thought that i needed to enable something on the bolero headunit for the wifi hotspot?

Edited by kevboselecta

Its all done via maxidot not the head unit but as langers also says it needs an rsap enabled phone. The s5 will be fine but not the iPhone.

i cant see any wifi options, i must be missing something?

As adamal mentioned, everything needs to be set up via the maxidot/MFD so ignore the Bolero for now ;)

You should first check if the S5 is connecting using HFP or rSAP.

You should get the BT premium logo (shown below) and no signal bars on the phone, if not, then your first issue is getting the phone to connect using rSAP.

Unfortunately I don't know much about the S5 but I believe it should support rSAP out of the box if it's up to date. There is a menu option some where in the phone MFD section to choose between HFP and rSAP but it's badly worded if I remember - I'll have a look tomorrow. Once we know you're all connected via rSAP we can look at the WiFi issue ;)

There is a choice between hands free (hfp) or premium (rsap) in the settings menu under phone mode. Choose premium.

Then look in the bluetooth menu and wifi should be there.

Hi all, I finally sorted it. Everything was correct on the car, had the correct coding and had selected premium, but it would never connect rsap, it would always connect through hfp.

So my problem was i had my work email on my phone, so it was the device administrator and blocking any 3rd party access my phone.

so I removed the device administrator and cleared the credentials in the security options and rebooted the phone and happy days wifi now appears.

I was started to think I had a dud unit, i'm so glad this is sorted now.

Thanks to everyone for the help, I really appreciate it.

Hi all. I am struggling to remove the connector for the purple wire to my Bluetooth module, bits of purple plastic fell off during attempts. The old unit still works, but I want to change the a for a d and so need to get that off!
