12v socket 1p coin

Featured Replies

Hello all.. Not long replaced the 12v as it was a bit grubby inside. My son decided it would be a good idea to put a 1p coin in there yesterday. I've got it out this morning but the socket is not working. I've checked the 15amp fuse in the fuse box and it's fine.

Is the socket itself knackered?

Make sure you have checked the correct fuse as the card / handbook shows a LHD fuse box, which is a mirror image to yours.

I would say it has certainly blown the fuse.

Yes advice above is sound, that will definitely blow the fuse.

Not sure if your model VRS has the same fuses as mine, but when my plug in for sat nav fell apart the other day, the bits also blew the fuse. The fuse box was the interior one in the side of the dash next to the drivers door. The fuse that had blew had the number 25 on the edge. Make sure you check both of them though, as there are two fuses with 25 on next to one another.

As roaddetective.

Well done mate, power to the people. Well power to your socket anyway!
