Anybody use VLC player

Featured Replies

Is there a way of getting rid of that bloddy green screen that flashes up for a sec between video tracks

Flicking through a load of small and large video clips and between each track a green screen briefly appears

I am due to be using it to project something and don't want to see the green screen

On a side note would would be the best format to convert vob files to with losing too much detail in the video quality

I've not had a green screen with VLC.

My preferred version of VLC is v0.94 though.

I never liked any of the newer ones as much so I just keep the old old one.

It plays almost any format video so you have loads of choice I just use .avi.

Go to CNET downloads and look for free video converters.

Not seen that either, with any VLC version.

Could be your graphics setup/resolution/config. Have you tried running the same files on VLC with another PC, if you have something else to test on?

not tried it yet ill try another machine

going to rip them to another format anyway so i will use media player with relevant codecs

its only because my windows 10 media will not play dvds even with k lite codec pack installed

I use VLC for everything. Don't touch Media Player with a barge pole :)

What format are the files in that you're seeing green screen between files? Does it only happen with certain filetypes?

ok so ive just dropped it down to version 0.94 as suggested earlier and the problem has now gone

it is also reported on the official VLC forums and an known bug

Ahh nice one. Glad you're sorted.

I might dig out the install for 0.94 then - just in case :)
