Simpsons skoda are a complete waste of time!

Featured Replies

So, my car went in a few weeks back for cruise control fitting and they had the car 3 days and everytime I called them they said they were having problems coding it and was on the phone to skoda UK! After a shambles of a 1st visit I booked in the car for a 2nd visit! The car was booked in for 9am on Tuesday for the following.... Windows scratched due to hard seals / felt. Driver window auto switch not working 1 touch wind up. And finally car is holding water in the doors as per common fault. The car was dropped off at 9am and I said I wanted it back at 4:30pm .

No call or anything I called them at 4pm to see if it was ready, sorry sir he's just on with it now so won't be ready till tomorrow. So I managed to find a lift to and from work as they promised me it would be ready for dinner today, 12:30 no call so I called them again, sorry sir we are having problems and are on the phone to skoda UK we will provide a courtesy car. I accepted this and turned up at 3pm to pick my courtesy car up, hi sir there was a mis understanding your car is ready. I asked what was done and the reply I got was as follows.... We have taken photos of the windows and sent them to skoda we are awaiting reply, we couldn't find a fault on the auto switch they do tend to be temperamental and the doors on the Octavia are designed to hold water this is normal and not an issue! Wow.... I have never known a main dealer like it in my life, I told the guy there wouldn't be a chance on this earth I would use them again customer service and service is absolutely diabolical if your in Lancashire avoid at all costs this dealer really hasn't got a clue!

I did tell you they were the biggest bunch of Muppets I have ever come across. My experiences with them are pretty much the same. The best one was the air con service they did on my MkII Octy, they vacced the system then couldn't regas it. Told me it was faulty and needed a £500+ repair. Odd, I said as it was working fine when I came in. Apparently I needed 4 New dust shields for the brake discs as well. Are you sure I said, I've just replaced 2 a month ago?

Took it to an air con specialist who gassed it no problem and could find no fault.

Oh, and then they sold me an ex demo O3 with a wiring short behind the dash and no interior switch illumination that they hadn't noticed whilst driving round in it for 6months, or noticed the fault code that was present when they serviced it before I picked it up.

And they cured EvilMyagis oil consumption issue on his Fabia vRS by not putting any oil back in it and letting him drive off down the motorway!

I haven't met anyone with a good thing to say about them round East Lancs, and I've met quite a few Skoda owners from these parts for VCDS mods.

Where do you go Andy?

RRG in Bolton, Skoda Service Partner based out of a Toyota dealership.

Proper old school, care about customer service.

I like the way that every time they mess up they blame it on skoda UK! How the hell are they still approved dealerships? They couldn't even fit cruise control without a problem, motor line skoda in Canterbury where I bought the car were absolutely fantastic they knew everything and laughed when I told them simpsons couldn't code it. I also asked simpsons if I would benefit off v power 99 to which I was told point blank I don't know. Hahaha what a set of jokers these guys are!

Which Simpsons? Colne or Preston?

Me - Colne

They're a sponsored group with preferential treatment within the network from what I've been led to believe (not sure if that's 100% true but I trust the source).

I work for RRG rochdale, they do value customers over profit, it's something I'm not used to seeing in the dealer environment and we have no issues coding Cruise on the O3, a mix of ODIS and VCDS seem to do the trick.

I'd rather go to Colne than the other bunch of muppets at Preston.

Shame to read this as was planning on them fitting lowering springs :-(

They seem capable of performing work like that. Just don't ask them to do anything that involves going near a computer or similar.

How did that one slip through!

Round here they've closed all those dealerships.

Just an update to let people know I had a call from there main man today who invited me down to talk and rectified everything, he is fitting the revised door seals and compensated me for my issues! He has promised the staff will be dealt with and nobody will go through that again! Fair is fair I'll give them 1 more chance! If anyone else encounters issues with simpsons give Tony a call at Preston and he will deal with it as it should!

Almost makes you wonder if they monitor Briskoda ......

It wasn't Phil Wadsworth who you dealt with was it? I seem to remember Ross Plumbley was good, it was only when the Service Manager (default answer is no) got involved that it all went to pot ........

I complained and sent an email with a link to this post to let them know how unpopular they were his name was Tony and he brought Craig who is service manager at Colne to discuss what was happening and said they were gonna monitor why people thought what they did, to be fair he was a nice guy who gave me confidence but it's holding it that matters, he has told me Craig was going to deal with me in future and staff spoken too about issues!

I also told them there was a revised seal for the 03 to stop the foot wash as I had seen it in here! After research Tony found out I was right and ordered them for me, I said his technical team should already know this and should have listened to me instead of presuming I have no idea and telling me the computer says there's nothing wrong. Tony did agree 100 percent and everything will be rectified, I'm willing to give a second chance this once due to the personal effort made to rectify my issues!

Sorry my apologies the service manager at Colne was Simon not Craig haha!

Lets hope they honour their promises this time.

If they have changed the service staff I might be tempted to go to my nearest dealer again rather than driving miles out of my way to avoid them.

I'd give them a try he sounded very honest and angry that the service wasn't what he thought!

Ill let them wreck your car first LOL :)

Are they ok at prepping cars? I'm due to pick up my octy in a few weeks. Well that's if the 'handover specialist' replies to me...

It's a long way for me.
