Change of alloys

Featured Replies

My dealer has 'confirmed' that I have an unconfirmed build week 5 so I'm expecting delivery about the same time as you. So sounds like your build is also delayed waiting on the Stratos wheels.

  • Bigger wheels tend to mean higher emissions.... so will hurt company car drivers in the pocket. Unless, of course, software can deal with it!

Heard from Skoda CS today saying that they've still not had a response from "The Brand" who still seem to be somewhat preoccupied with the emissions scandal.

Well it seems that the Skoda UK position on this issue is 'No good will gestures, no upgrade on wheels and no discounts!' as of my telephone conversation this afternoon.

yes I had my broker say the same thing. Its not very good customer service but they are allowed to make equivalent changes, and the demand for the SE Business probably means if a few people get the hump and cancel it doesnt matter.

I've just gone ahead with Helios as im not waiting any longer. I'll wait and see what they look like, but might buy a set of alloys and swap the tyres. It shoudl mean the Helios will never get kerbed when i go to return them

I can kind of agree with Skoda position, as there is an alternative available in the same size (whether customers like is immaterial)

If that size wasn't available full stop on any design, FOC upgrades to the next size available is adequate and would be expected.

That's the same as I was told....waiting on the Stratos and current unconfirmed build week is 52.

Totally agree

Totally agree

I agree as well but it didn't stop me trying for 18's!

I think what I'm most annoyed about is the misinformation I've had, I've been assured three times that I'm getting stratos and also told three times that I'm not. Mines being built next week though so god only knows what it'll come with. 3 stratos and a Helios?

So now apparently the silver roof rails are the latest item to be dropped from the spec sheet!

where have u seen this?

actually just re-read the SE Business brochure for the first time in a long time - its pretty disgraceful that there isnt a picture of an SE Business anywhere  and it still shows they standard alloys are stratos

Told by the dealer.

Spoke to Skoda CS this afternoon for an order update and appearently my unconfirmed build week has come forward another couple of weeks, now week 50

If it keeps creeping forward there's a slim chance I may get it for Christmas, fingers crossed!

Just wondering if there's any update on the status of Stratos?

Just wondering if there's any update on the status of Stratos?

Hi there, I know at one point our cars were on a similar build path but mine is now confirmed bw 50, this week, definitely with the stratos wheels specced, so hopefully that's what it will turn up with but you never know judging by some of the stories on the forums. If you want to check Skoda CS should be able to confirm what's specced for your car.

I know that mine are Fuglies (Helios).

I know that mine are Fuglies (Helios).

They tried to do the same with mine but although it's a lease car the fleet girl at the dealer through which is it's been order was very good. She eventually managed to get Skoda UK to re-instate the Stratos, although they indicated it would delay build by about 10 weeks. In the end it looks like it's only going to be about a 3 - 4 week delay.

I wanted the pegasus wheels when i placed my order for SEL Exec but was told this would increase build time to approx 20 weeks. Settled for the Modus ones in the end.

Originally i was told i could go down to the 17" Stratos and if i did that, i got the spare wheel FOC. I wasnt interested in the smaller wheels until the pegasus would cause a delay. When i went back to ask they had the new November '15 brochure which now doesnt even list the Stratos as an option. As long as the Helios ones are no where in sight i'll be happy.

Wonder if that's to do with the Pegasus being standard on the L&K - perhaps supply has been affected.

The L&Ks with the anthracite pegasus seem to be getting through OK, based on some of the other posts. Its possible the supplier is just kicking these ones out to keep up with the L&K demand

My order has only been in a few weeks; going to give it another couple then speak to SUK and see if changing back to pegasus would still be a delay.

Who was that? What a star!

I need to decide fairly soon if I:

1) Try to persuade my dealer to push Skoda harder for Stratos (and offer acceptance of a further month's delay - they won't be too keen!)

2) Cough up the extra £400 for Pegasus

3) Do nothing and then buy some nice-looking 3rd party rims (£500), maybe keep Helios for winter tyres

Although the Fuglies look terrible in photos - are they not too bad in real life?

The choice is complicated by the fact that this is only a lease car, although it may be possible that I buy the car after the 2 years have elapsed.

Not sure what the resale value of the 3rd party rims would be if, after 2 years, I buy something else that's not compatible.

Also, will the leasing company have a problem if I return the car with winter tyres? (it will likely be February 2018).

Mine came with Helios. Whilst I didn't want them and hated them in pictures they aren't that bad. The car needs 18's minimum I think to look it's best though. Mines a 2 year lease so I can live with them for 24 months.
