SE Business v SE L - Spec

Featured Replies

Hi, Looking at the PDF's on the Skoda set, but im trying to get a list together of the spec on a SE B v SE L.

At present, its a compare of the PDF's. does anyone already have a list compiled ?

Thanks in advance.

Main differences are the xenon headlights

Heated front seat

And bigger wheels

Electric boot

Columbus sat nav

Se business does have front parking sensors though and the sel strangely doesn't.

Thanks for them links - I have been using the PDF's to cross ref... at Present, the only extra a SE B has SE L is front parking sensors, the rest of the extras are in favor of SE L.

Thanks for confirming, it is strange it does not have front sensors, plus front sensors at £300 seems a lot ?

I did the simple comparison in another thread but it's about what you have above.

SE-L also gets leather as standard

Found it - and you really need to compare them both back against the SE in my opinion.

You get the following as extras over the SE:

  • Sunset glass
  • Alcantara/leather interior
  • Amundsen Sat Nav
  • Front and rear park sensors
  • Electrically adjustable drivers seat
  • 17" Stratos alloy wheels
  • Bluetooth+ with Phone Box

Primarily aimed at fleet market hence the lack of petrol engines

The SE-L Exec gets these over the SE:

  • 18" Zenith alloy wheels
  • Bi Xenon headlights with LED DRLs
  • Headlight washers
  • Boot net programme
  • Electrically operated boot
  • Electrically adjustable drivers seat
  • Full leather interior
  • Heated seats
  • Sunset glass
  • Electrically adjustable, heated and folding door mirrors with memory
  • Auto dimming rear view mirror
  • Columbus sat nav
  • Drive mode selection

Also (and the specs are vague on this), Business can't have beige leather, even with the £200 upgrade - it's black only.

Wheels might be a potential bone of contention! ;-)

I must say that I have totally lost trust in Skoda's ability to make specifications clear and then stick to them. Mind you, this might be true of all manufacturers - I've certainly heard bad things about Mercedes.

Thank you everyone.

And don't forget everyone, as of Week 22 next year (so cars built on/after week commencing 30 May 2016) have the advanced version of Phone Box, with wireless charging etc. If that's something you're after then perhaps waiting to order in early next year could be worth it? (Alongside seeing what happens to the 'true' emissions of the only-diesel options on SE Business!)

Skoda UK have updated the Finance offers on their website (now valid until 31 Dec, instead of 30 Sep)

For the Superb, the SE Business is excluded from the 2.9% PCP and £2000 deposit contribution.

All other specs get both the 2.9% and £2000

The Business was always excluded - it's designed for leasing

SE-B just appeared on my company list.

Had a wee hurl in a loaner we had on trial.  Was pretty impressed.

Cant wait to chop in this Rapid.  If it lasts another 12 months.

Had a look over some new Superb's yesterday and have to say, overall, they are really very impressive cars. SE Business spec does seem to be the sweet spot of the range for max bang per buck.

Personally, I prefer the alcantara seats over the higher trim level leather ones, prefer to have 17" alloys instead of the 18's on higher trim levels (on a car like this) but I'd miss the xenon headlamps. SE Business spec + xenons and Canton would probably be my ideal spec tbh.

The xenons are one of the best pieces of equipment on any car IMO both from a practical and aesthetic point of view. On the MkIII especially they make all the difference with the addition of the LED DRLs.

My SE business arrived today and I am delighted with it: some extras I appear to have that I wasn't expecting as I never ordered extras are:

Auto hold

Foot Well lighting

Electric Boot

Rear Sun Blinds

And the mirrors are heated which I don't think was mentioned until SE L spec.

All in all I am delighted with the car and the extras surprises I've found.

That represents an awful lot of metal and tech for the money. Very tempted by an SE Business Estate myself.

Glad to hear you're happy. Sounds like you got lucky with a couple if items that are unlikely to appear for many of us (but we can hope!) with SE Business trim, although I think heated door mirrors with memory function was introduced recently as part of change to alloy wheel design fiasco.

Did you get an auto-dimming rear view mirror? It's something I'll miss for night driving if it's not standard, but it wasn't available to add as an option and isn't listed on the amended blurb I was provided for standard spec unless going for SEL Exec trim.

Hi all. Can someone tell me what functionality the passenger seat has on a SEL? Specs suggest only the drivers seat is powered, but does the passenger seat have manual height and lumber adjustment?

Cheers

Yes, that's how I have read it.

It doesn't have auto dimming rear view no, I miss it too as had it on my last car and helped a lot as my eyes are sensitive to light especially at night.

Hmmmm. Thanks KoS. No auto dim rear view mirror would be very disappointing, especially as whilst just playing with online configurator (wishfully trying out different 18" alloy designs) I've gone into the build summary and amongst all the entries returned on the 'car card' it lists; Breakaway interior rear view mirror, automatically dimming.

It also states; Exterior mirrors: with memory function, automatically dimmingelectrically foldable/adjustable, separately heated

Time will tell... but interestingly there's no disclaimer on the printable build summary stating 'specification subject to change without notice'.

(P.S - Anyone from Skoda reading this, I'm contemplating a change in career direction and I'd be more than happy to come sort out all your specification anomalies for you!)
