Has anyone ordered without a test drive ?

Featured Replies

As per title really, Has anyone ordered without a test drive ? More so a SE Business 150 ?

What are peoples thoughts on the performance / ride quality ?

Thanks

Ordered on strength of reviews - all of which said ride quality and performance was better than the Mk II. . L&K 150, which has the Dynamic Chassis Control suspension, so looking forward to seeing how that works.

280 Ordered. No test drive ...

Once my lease company advises me I can, I will be ordering without a test drive.

Did the same on my Mk2.

I have never bought a car (new or used) without a test drive.  is it a coincidence that some of my friends who have done so are dissatisfied with their cars?

Yes :-) I've bought my last 6 cars without a test drive and been delighted with them all :-)

SE Business TDI 150 hatch ordered without test drive. In fact ordered without even seeing one in the flesh, yet.

I bought my original Octavia VRS and my first Skoda without ever driving one. Mind you I was moving up from a Vauxhall Vectra, so there was little that could go wrong. The Octy is the best car I've yet owned. Hopefully the Superb will trump it.

Don't think your regret it I have an octavia and have driven the Superb 2.0tdi SEL and it's great.

Yes. First time I drove was tonight when I picked it up

Mine was also ordered without a test drive, as have a number of my last cars and I've yet to be disappointed.

There were no S3 L & K avail, or even a car to drive as my local Dealer had to keep it in their workshop.

I've ordered four times now without test drives, Cancelled the last two orders due to incompetence and then fraud fright, but preparing to order again without a test drive.

I've requested test drives of the new Superb twice via Skoda UK  (just to annoy the completely useless dealer in Chesterfield!) but never been offered one.

Went into the showroom today to see if I could find a Candy White estate but despite telling the same story to a member of what they laughingly refer to as their 'Sales staff', wasn't even close to getting offered such a treat!

At least I was able to prise a catalogue out of his disinterested palm even though I've also asked Skoda UK twice for one of those too.

I can understand their disinterest as we've only bought two of their cars in the last three years and I understand they have bigger fish to fry.

Ordered my SE l exec on Monday without a drive but have arranged to go tomorrow for a drive of their demo. Mainly because it might be 4/5 months before mine arrives.

I know it might sound a bit silly. I ordered without seeing a new one never mind a test drive. Spec and reviews it was rude not too

Ordered my last 5 cars without a test drive. VW Golf was the gamble (paid off tho as it was excellent), and from then on I figured that all VAG cars would be similar. They have been. My current VRS is excellent apart from its lack of suspension but then I am 33 so can put up with it.

Test drive not needed on Superb as it will be better than my last Superb which was excellent

I ordered 1.4 SEL estate DSG Superb.  Added park assist, spacesaver tyre and heated screen.without test drive

There's a Candy White estate in the Derby dealer....

Ordered my last 5 Superbs without a test drive. Took my sons Fabia in for an MOT 25th.September and saw a MkIII Superb L&K 190PS DSG in Cappuccino. My last 2 Superbs have been L&K, wife was with me and we bought it that afternoon after my present one was examined. Picking it up Monday 5 Oct. Having downloaded the Manuals I think I should be able to drive it ok, so many extras were added on that it seems a different beast alltogether. First stop fuel then back to my workshop for a full detail. Then plenty of trips to fully evaluate, you would need a test drive of a few weeks really to get the feel of it properly anyway, hence No. 6 bought without a road test.

That's a very quick delivery time, unless you bought the demonstrator.

I've driven 2 diesels & 1 petrol, but I'm not sure that I want to change just yet, I like my current car more than I'd thought!

Well I simply don't beieeeeve it!

On the day visited the muppets at Gordon Lamb Chesterfield,  Skoda Mansfield, Skoda Nottingham and then went to Ikea on the Derby side of the M1....remember saying to SWMBO that I should have logged the location of the Derby dealer (unfortunately also Gordon Lamb) but after all of that including the torture of the enforced IKEA nature trail store trek I'd lost the will to live and we went home.

BTW, now 2 requests for brochure and test drive to Skoda UK and never heard a Dickie bird.

As owners and servicers of two Skodas from new I find that utterly disgraceful.

Mercifully I found a dealer in Mitsubishi Outlanders (the plug in hybrid electric vehicle variety (in Leeds)) who was actually happy to talk turkey (unlike the disinterested idiots in the Chesterfield agency), drove up there on Saturday and spent a small fortune with them.

Now looking forward to delivery in about 6 weeks, the first shipload has sold out!

BTW...they drive like a dream and if you happen to be a company car driver the BIK rate is going to save you enough for your holidays every year!

Cue Queen's 'I want to break free'.....and I have....wheeeeeeee!

:D
