Premium Mats ?

Featured Replies

Anyone heard of these ? Apparently they are £70 ish for the set.. Whats the difference between the Premium and Peasant sets then ?

Yes - I've ordered a set for my New L & K Estate - which is yet to arrive - they look much better than the plain ones supplied. They have a grey raised

nubuck stripe around the edge and are whip stitched and made from black polyamide fibre. The front two have the word 'SUPERB' stitched into them in

silver/white capital letters. They cost £70 and the part number for RHD is 3V2 061 404A. They have already been delivered to the dealer - but the car

hasn't!

Nice one cheers ! Mailed the dealer for a set. Hopefully come before next week !

Am I reading this correctly that the 'top spec' L&K, although mats are supplied as standard, are the 'peon' level mats and there's better mats offered as an accessory? God damn rip-off :( I buy top spec, I want the top spec mats as standard! Is that too much to ask?

Yup their are some 'Uber Mats' :-D

If you ask, you will probably get.  I did and I did!

Well let's see - I've just asked.

I had the equivalent on my series II and they looked good.

So good I had to protect them with additional mats :notme:

I've got a set of mats in the Mk2 and they sound just like this but didn't cost £70.

Any pictures available?

Dealer says of course I can add the mats to my order - for £70 :(

Are they available anywhere else for cheaper?

The non-premium ones are cheaper...

...but it's an interesting question - are there any third-party mat suppliers worth trying?

Are the mats compatible with Mk2?

Aside from the silver trim bit exactly the same as mine.

In the OH's Mini and now 107 we just bought some mats off www.valuecarmats.com

Just checked and a set for Mk2 is £19.74 but use the discount code IWANTADEAL and they drop to £11.84

Unfortunately there is nothing listed for Mk3.

I also ordered the DSG Steel pedals for the Octavia 3, in RHD, which I read here somewhere that should fit the Superb 3. Is that right?

Yes, it's the same part number as listed in the Suberb 3 accessories brochure.

Nice saving of £26 quid on the mats :) SWMBO doesn't like them after seeing the picure - looks like I'll be sticking with the ones supplied on the L&K.

My dealer advised them to £50 as a dealer fit accessory rather than £80 as a factory option. Are they the same? I went for the dealer option...

There is no factory fit for these mats. Your dealer is talking out of his bum bum.

Yeah there is, they are listed on page 31 of factory fitted options in the brochure as an option on all but the L&K as textile floor mat set for £80, or is this a brochure error?

By this I think he means that the factory doesn't need to "install" them. You just buy mats and position them. Simple.

So yes they are an option, but no they aren't "fitted", just placed.

No, it's not a brochure error. We are talking about different sets of mats here. The bochure gives the option of supplying L&K mats to any other trim. It's been confirmed here the mats pictured in this thread are not the L&K mats. Therefore, taking the option of floor mats (as is suggested in the brochure) doesn't get you Prestige textile foor mats - with double stitching, grey ŠKODA Genuine Accessories Four-part set for left hand drive (3V1 061 404A), right-hand drive (3V2 061 404A).

What is not clear is what is supplied as standard on L&K and likely the option for the other trims. There is the following:

Standard textile foor mats  ŠKODA Genuine Accessories Four-part set for left hand drive (3V1 061 404B), right-hand drive (3V2 061 404B)

Prestige textile foor mats ŠKODA Genuine Accessories Four-part set for left-hand drive (3V1 061 404), right-hand drive (3V2 061 404)

Why would Mk3 be different from Mk2, I wonder?

Is it just me that thinks rubber mats are the sensible option...?

Nope. I always use rubber mats in mine. Much easier to clean.
