Fabia 1.2 htp oil pressure sensor location

Featured Replies

Hi all,

cannot seem to see the oil pressure sensor on my 2002 fabia 1.2 htp

low oil warning comes on for first couple of miles driving then goes off. there is plenty of oil in the car.

I am checking the following in order.

Engine earth strap (checked all ok)

Oil pressure switch wire is connected.

Oil pressure message by earthing connection wire.

removing pressure switch fitting my oil pressure gauge to check pressure.

then if that is all ok check cluster by replacing

if the oil pressure is low i will need a new oil pump but the car has only done 51,000 miles so hoping that is not the case.

any other tips/advice/experience welcomed.

thanks for any help.

Picture of 1.2 12-valve location in second picture of post #4 here. On 6-valve version I think it may stick out of the end of the narrower head, at right angles to the way the 12-valve one is.

Edit: Location of 6-valve oil pressure switch:

Often when they fail, they leak oil, so if you find it has been leaking, just replace it; unlikely to need any other work.
