LCode no show info in VCDS

Featured Replies

Hi,

why LCode not show bit infos in byte inside Long Coding ??

I've discovered it in Octavia with differents ABS modules...

For example this:

or this one:

Rosstech don't really provide much help for ABS modules due to legal reasons.

What are you trying to do?

Activate Hill Hold function.

I've solved with a tutorial (bit 0 and bit 1 in byte 25), but i don't understand, why ??

Here is what Sebastian, a rosstech employee, had to say about a label file that exists for the MK60EC1 ABS pumps,

The information in that file is - simply put - incorrect. The file linked here has been floating around the interweb for quite some time, it is partially based of a file which we had sent to a few customers early on but we soon realized that it wasn't just wrong but resulted in incorrect ESP codings which would then have an influence on drivability in emergency situations.

Just because you have no DTC etc. doesn't make your "trial and error" value correct. There are no certain ways to test, and in the worst case, you won't know until you are in an emergency situation.

So basically, as rosstech can't be sure about how each bit actually affects the ABS pump they refuse to give descriptions that may lead to incorrect coding and therefore potential accidents.

Seem fair to me and I'm glad you got it sorted!

Damn, for to activate Hill Hold i've deactivated ABS in emergency brake ?!?!?!
Really ?!?!?!

Probably not, I would expect your ABS pump to work completely normally under emergency braking as HHC seems to be a well documented change :)

I test it in a raining day.

I need to be sure of a perfect work of ABS in emergency brake.

Moral of the story - don't go playing with things you don't understand, especially if it is safety related.
