Just tried to fit the official Octavia roof bars from our old 55 plate Octavia II to our new 65 plate, and the clamps don't seem to meet up properly - the little metal lugs that under the roof rails into the slots on the back plate pull away and out when you tighten the bolt

 

Have they changed the profile slightly so the old roof bars don't fit? Thought I'd check on here before and resist forcing the issue and breaking something

Hi - yes they are definitely different. I had a long saga with Skoda when I lost a rubber foot on my new bars. They would not believe me when I said the old type were not compatible. They had no spares so gave me a new set FOC in the end!

 

The old style are not safe on the new rails.
