Octy RS front pads are a doddle.

I had fast road pads fitted to my Octy vRS by Star Performance - the car was serviced at the same time and I'm damn sure the pads plus fitting were a lot less than

I changed discs and pads myself for under £100

Labour should be about .7 hours so depends on labour rate.

But genuine pads are about £60 IIRC (same as all other 312mm brakes) so you can see where the money goes.

£40 sounds about right for a coolant change, about £6 parts and half hour labour and VAT.

Go to a local garage. As long as they use VAG parts, there is no problem

;) Just don't use your brakes, they'll last longer that way.

do it yourself?? would love to but time as always is more precious than the cost of having the fitting done at the mo..still seems expensive though..comparing the cost of mercedes parts from eurocartparts and g&s to skoda brake bits..the merc parts are a lot cheaper!

I usually do all my own maintainance but just cant get the time and my pads are getting VERY low..in fact they seem to have worn very fast in the last 1000 miles.

i know someone in the trade so never pay more than a drink ;) for fitting although always use manufacturers parts.

saying that i am entertaining replacing the standard pads with something better when the time comes.

£100 for an oil change !? i paid £74 last week for a 30K service although have been told the 40K service will be around £230 :o
