Might get myself some small mirrors to assist with the job!

You're doing better than me - I'd need my reading glasses, LED Lenser head torch AND the mirror.  And that's just to watch and make sure the Skoda tech did it properly.

Or you could buy them from Halfords and get them to "break your headlight" sorry I meant fit them:blink:

I've seen a couple of bikes assembled by weekend teenager Halford boys.

I would wish them on my greatest enemies.

I was in last week waiting for them to find my tool order so waited outside as the stuff was lost.

Watched a fitter going to replace a rear brake bulb on  a Seat rear cluster with a screwdriver to pry out the lense .

I told him they are very prone to crack and he should be using a plastic wedge tool to remove but he assured me and the Owner that he had done loads of these before (looking at me like I was a silly old fool)

Rear lenses were over a £100 last year when I replaced one for somebody that had cracked theirs

Guess what happened and I wonder who pays for these parts that are broken by incompetents is it the fitter or Halfords?
The guy next to us with his bonnet up on a 5 Series waiting for something quickly closed his bonnet

Going to fit these now see if they last longer than the standard ones

Where are you fitting them @DEL80Y, internal or external?

The bulbs arrived yesterday...

Rears easily fitted, nice and bright, no blown bulb warning lights on the dash...

No such luck with the fronts though.

The metal prongs inside the LED bulb caps are much longer than those on the standard Philips incandescent bulbs, which prevented them from fitting into the bulb holder properly. They worked but the longer prongs prevented the bulb from fully seating into the holder.

Do you think I could shorten them somehow?

LED on the left, original on the right...

Without cutting the plastic wrap case the only way I can think of is to use a dremmel with a grinding wheel (not disc) ang grind very gently from the top down.

Stopping often so the heat doesn't disconnect the bulb connections or melt the plastic .

Worth trying a cutting disc at an angle? the end of the connector does not need to be square.

the right hand indicator looks white on your video, the left doesn't look very orange either so is it just the filming?

Always needed an excuse to invest in a Dremel :D

Both bulbs are orange, the sun was very bright and in front of the car, so bad timing.

I did look at those pliers, I think they'll be too big. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I might contact the seller as they were advertised as being compatible with the Superb.

Communication with Aliexpress sellers is always a challenge though.

Well fitted them today to the rear clusters and they are really bright and instant on.   But they are crap when fitted in the rear clusters and look just as white as the failing ones fitted.
Stuck with originals for the now.

I meant when fitted to the bulb attachment they are really bright but when fitted in the cluster they look terrible
So bad they would fail a MOT:wacko:

  • 2 weeks later...

No joy, when trying to shorten the contacts, despite being really careful, the vibration quickly snapped off the contacts.

Well there's some quality materials in use,,

Perhaps a normal bulb is in order?

The normal bulbs are still in, there was nothing wrong with them, I just fancied something a little brighter.

I contacted the seller and sent him the photo's and he offered a full refund, so nothing gained, but nothing lost.
