Hi All, Please can someone help. Until a few days ago, my Octy (2.0 Diesel 07 plate) was running ok, ie no warning lights etc.

 

I have an MOT scheduled in for tomorrow, and in typical style, my car battery went flat (completely flat and out of the blue) 3 days ago.

 

I charged it up, but it still dead. So I bought a new battery and fitted it today. It now starts like a dream - as it should - anyway, I have now noticed that the orange power steering light is on. this was not on before the battery was playing up. Do I need to do something - like get an mechanic to "reset" something - or is this telling me that I have a genuine issue? - Just seems a bit of a coincidence that the light came on as soon as the battery went flat. Now that I've put a new battery in the light is still on.

Go drive the car around a few corners and it should extinguish.

+1 or turn from lock to lock a couple of times with engine running.
