No the Quitus Fiscale solves that problem, its a doc to verify no VAT/Import duty payable and is issued by the local Tax Office. Proof is accepted by showing the V5c and the previous part of the doc on acquisition of the car. Lomax search successful?

Lost one 223 to a dealer hoping to import it to France, who "gazumped" me, but got my eye on a blue 224 and a yellow 223 at the moment.

Should be getting my money within the next month so...............................

Very unlikely!! Will go out for a nice meal though, probably when we go down to Swansea to chat to the dealers about a new Yeti. Brian, their salesman has already been primed for what we want.

And I heard on the weekend that my solicitors have now given a figure to NR for my Industrial Injury claim!!

Ok, having put the Marlin(<photo) through the French MoT test, what a joke!, a few very minor advisories for surface rust on shocker covers etc and gaining a pass. So off to the Prefecture with all the relevant documentation +  some extra sheets and cheque book.Said visit was a sort of breeze, no probs with the Marlin but the trailer oi! oi! oi!, no official receipt for the purchase(copy supplied by a welsh man on this section), no UK reg doc, insurance etc, explained the situation that in the UK, trailers take the car reg and run on the cars insurance with just 3rd party cover or can have full insurance with a separate policy - couldn't get insurance here or by a UK based outfit. Eventually a supervisor was called in, after repeating my situation, and also producing pictures of the Yeti with a UK reg followed by the trailer with the same same reg she accepted the situation  et voila 2 x carte grisse. Had to pay approx. £180 equiv in total.

Now for the insurance minefield, both units have been classed as items of collection, older than 30 years, the car now has to have an MoT every 5 years, can you believe that?

that search starts next week!

And we complain about bureaucracy here!
