Featured Replies

When I try to switch up to close the drivers door window, it goes down? Any ideas please guy's?

I had the same problem with my Monte, had a new switch fitted under warranty now works fine.

cheers!

I have the same problem with my car! When closing the drivers window it takes about 50 clicks to inch the window up. Think the switch is knackered, either that or the wiring in the door gaiter/bellow.

Anybody know how much a replacement switch is from skoda? EBay show units for about £15 but they are cheap parts.

One thing that's always worth trying with electric windows problems is to put the key in the door, turn it forward until the windows go right down then backwards until they close. This resets them and always solved it on my Roomster.

Dealers are wanting £29.99 for the switch! Think I will take my chances with a unit off ebay at half that price.

Try holding the window switch until you hear a 'click' that means it's reset itself.  I had to do this when i installed wind deflectors.

I bought one from the dealers thinking it was the switch to find out it was something else. I cant be bothered driving 20 minutes down the motorway to then spend another 20 minutes driving back so I've got one for sale if you're interested?

Hi Lgm,

Pm sent

I have 2008 Skoda Fabia 2.

Having some issues with the drivers side window. Seems to have a mind of it's own. I will be driving and it opens all the way to the bottom by itself. I press the switch to bring back up, but it doesn't move. It will eventually go up my itself to the top, for about 5 seconds, then go back down. For the majority of my recent journeys, I have been driving with the window down as it won't go up. I have managed to keep it closed now as I have removed the fuse.

I thought it might be the regulator, however, i don't know anything bout cars and don't really know what the regulator does so I could be completely wrong.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Nice little trick that! (turning the key all the way to the right!)
