No wheely good guys about today ?

Yes, those will fit straight on. A 10mm spacer will push them out to the edge of the bodywork (Audi S3's are 8" wide and ET32 and fit fine). The ad doesn't mention centre bore but they need to be 57.1mm. The 215/40 tyres are also fine for a Fabia.

These are ET42 not 32  like the s3's

Was actually watching these.

Was intrested in the tyres not the alloys. Lol

Yes, but you were talking about using a spacer to take it to 32, no?

Ok but using http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator# really confuses me :p

 = Innner clearance = 23mm less clearance.

= Outer position   = extended an extra 3mm.

does this mean a 20mm spacers will make the alloys sit out 3mm more than standard?

20mm spacers on an ET42 will make it ET22, not ET32.

You want a 10mm spacer. Personally I wouldn't but that's just me.

The lower the ET, the further out the wheel sits. ET0 and the centre of the wheel is directly in line with the surface of the hub. As the ET goes up, the centre of the wheel moves in towards the centre of the car.

The calculators are only really useful for working out how fast you'll be going for a given speedo reading. A lot of what really makes wheels fit or not is down to the tyre size, tyre wall stiffness, tyre width to wheel width. A 215/40/17 on an 8" wide Audi S3 wheel has vertical sidewalls, but the same tyre on a 7" Octavia Spyder wheel has a bit of a muffin top. It looks crap but protects the alloy if you get a bit too close to the kerb.

So a calculator will give you some of the answers but ultimately you have to offer up the tyre and see if it fits in meat world.

Cheers for the help, they needed spigots as they are 60.1 centre bore, i haven't bothered with spacers, they seem fine
