Side Windows in Boot on Estate

Featured Replies

Hi all. Have VRS estate. The boot side windows look to have elements in them, but last night after the gym I steamed my car up. I popped the rear screen demister on and this cleared quickly, but the side windows didn't appear to clear at all. So, are they triggered with the rear screen demister? (Logic says yes), Can any other estate owners comment on the demisting qualities of the elements in the side windows? I've only had the car a couple of months and have never needed to demist these side windows before. Cheers.

Radio antenna.

On both windows Fatzy? Also does that mean the shark fin is purely for Nav and not DAB?

Just guessing but it could be for the alarm?

It's the two elements of the diversity aerial setup. The shark fin is for gps and phone plus system

Ok. So no heating element then. Suppose I'm happy that I haven't got them as opposed to having them and them not working. Cheers.

Yes, in both side windows for better reception. If I am not mistaken it is FM (full length 90 cm, can be half or one quart length).

+1 the right answer

Indeed one window has one side of the FM with AM (the left I think), the other the 2nd FM antenna for diversity and single DAB antenna.

The sharkfin is for GPS/GSM or both depending on the equipment fitted....if you have no nav but phonebox you'll have a GSM sharkfin, if you have nav but no phone box a GPS sharkfin if both a GPS/GSM sharkfin.

On the hatchback the top 2 or 3 lines of the screen are the antennas so this part of the screen does not demist..but is by design.

Thanks all. Another successfully answered questions from the community. Now if someone could get back to me on my post from a couple of days ago regarding texts/iphone6/Amundsen, that'd be grand!!

Ha ha. I can't post emojis, so just wanted to point out the above was left as a tongue in cheek message. (Emoji thumbs up)
