Hi

my Bolero radio uses the DAB BBC transmitted logos on both the Presets view (small icon logo), and also the Station Info screen (large logo). Both look smooth and decent resolution.

 

However if i add a custom logo, it only looks OK in the Presets screen. The logo on the info screen alway looks blocky and low resolution. The aspect ration is correct, it just looks realy poor and badly resized.

 

I've tried numerous resolutions from 500px and below, both PNG and JPG.

 

Does anyone know how we can add radio logos that look good in both the Preset screen and info screen?

Have you tried a higher resolution?

I havnt yet, i think the manual says 500x500 is the maximum so i have kept that max. I will try higher and see how that goes.

I have successfully created a few logos in Photoshop with resolution 350x220, saved as PNG format. The most important thing to get them looking good is to set the background as transparent rather than as a colour. I don't know what the maximum resolution is - I would not be surprised to hear that it is somewhat larger than I have used but the ones I have created have worked fine and look great.

 

All the VW supplied ones seem to be 160x120, so mine are roughly twice the resolution of theirs.

 

These files are so tiny as PNGs (10-15kB) that I don't think that file size could possibly be an issue, like it is with album covers for SD card music libraries.
