Creaks and rattles / early problems / niggles

Featured Replies

so we can see any 'trending' problems we may have.

100 miles so far and I have an intermittent buzz below the headlight switch. If I open the cubby hole and pull towards me from the top it stops... I think !

Snapped key. Took it out at the end of a journey, wouldn't fold back into fob, so looked at it and it was bent. Merely unfolding it again and it fell off. Lucky it wasn't in the ignition. I imagine this is a "one off" - flaw just in the wrong place on the blank, and also could happen to any model. I'm being very gentle with the other one at the moment.

Two squeaks from two different demonstrators for me. One from below the steering column I think and the second car had a squeak from behind the central dashboard vents. This one was very noticeable, the first one not so much.

With blower on high the air vent in the armrest whistles. Don't use this much and closing it sorts it. Not urgent and I'll mention next time it's in for service.

On the odd occasion Kessy hasn't locked or unlocked as expected.

I see they haven't done much to improve KESSY from the MkII so!  If I do go for another Superb and KESSY isn't standard, I don't think I'd bother specifying it.

Never had a problem at all with KESSY in my MKII so I'm hoping for the same when I take delivery of my MKIII

Rubber gromit fixed with small Velcro patches to the plastic panel immediately to the right of the drivers side cubbyhole.

The door shuts onto the gromit which in turn presses onto that panel and stops the squeaking :-)

Thank you.

Very clever fix if I might say.

Such a shame you had to do it.

Just a temp fix while I've been away this week I'll probably get it sorted properly in the next few weeks.....

Mine squeak and rattle free! no problems! touch wood, touch wood fast!

+1 (but won't touch wood - don't want fingerprints on that black piano trim!)

  • 2 weeks later...

I've got buzzing from the around the centre of the dash where the sat nav screen is. very annoying and I don't think easily fixed without getting the dealer involved.

DCC failed after a week.....PDI error to do with 'Transport Mode'. Fine now.
