Fao Fab16v - Your New Vrs

Featured Replies

Hope you are delighted with your new vRS. Whats the running in like - AUTOCAR have just taken one on to their fleet and it looks like the running in could be a real chore.

Anyway, here is my REAL question - are the xenons worth the money or are they like the ones on the MINI and rubbish??

Go on, give me the reassurance I crave that Im doing the right thing waiting till december for my black magic vRS with xenons and not taking a stock car immediately!!

Anyone else able to answer the question - I know there isnt many Fabia's with xenons yet.

Cheers - Ross.

I think xenons are an expensive luxury. In the event that they are damaged the replacement bill will make your eyes water. Go for cruise control and parking sensors instead, or use the money to get the car chipped/remapped, or lowered.

I actually wholeheartedly agree with you!! Ive just promised myself that my next car would have the xenon lamps.

When the bulbs failed and the projector units on my punto needed adjusting the bill was ridiculous - half the engine needed taken out, the bulbs cost about

What's the difference between xenons and up-rated headlight bulbs, anyway?

Proper xenon lamps use an arc of electricity reacting with xenon gas (or somethig like that) and produce a brighter, sharper light with a far greater spread of useable light. They also have to have washers and auto levellers which add to the cost.

I driven a few cars with xenons and they do make a huge difference to night time driving - would love to try a set of Bi-xenons.

Oh yeah- they look absolutely brilliant!!!!!!:D

Got Bi-Xenons on the S4. No matter which bulbs I put in the tavia it never even comes close for brightness and distance. When we ordered our fabia we ordered the xenons and leather trim and were later advised that skoda would not be marketing these in this country. Seems like I've been fobbed of slightly by Skoda!!!!

Been using the car tonight with the lights on. They really are amazing. I admit, they are an expensive luxury, but also look cool with it! :p

They give off a brilliant white light which is much brighter than stock bulbs and have auto levelling.

Oh yeah, the washers are cool too. With the lights on, use the windscreen washers for 3 seconds and the headlamp washer pop up, spray the lamps, then drop back down again! :1:

Glad im waiting then!!

I think the washers may just become my most played with toy ever.

Barry, Did you get the Fabia in Glasgow? Which dealer? Mines is ordered from St Andrews - found them to be a good bunch, seemed much more clued up than Queensbrough.

Cheers - Ross.

I've been playing with mine. Run the washer bottle out already!

Got it from Ingrams Paisley - probably one of the first on the road and definately the first to be remapped!!!!:D
