Just dropped my L&K off for bits fitting

Chatting to my salesman about how superb orders are doing.

He mentioned the stratos/helios switch on se business.

He wasn't aware of Rosso being discontinued

But he did mention that they COULDN'T spec ALCANTARA on any models at the present time!

Imo Might be worth checking with your dealers if you've specced it, might be delaying build weeks

Sounds like further confirmation of the ****-up made in predicting volume uptake of SE Business trim. Next it'll be front parking sensors in short supply...

I must start work on that university degree in clairvoyance! I still remember someone describing the difference between the old communist regime and a capitalist system and he illustrated it by asking how "the west" managed to make sure there were enough shirts on sale without there being a 7 year plan!

 

Inevitably there will be wrinkles where the customers prefer a different model from what the sales team forecast, and it must be said that the SE Business is a bargain. Now, if they only had a petrol version..................

Presumably they can take away features without penalty and we can't choose not to take the car by the time we know about it?

I think they can substitute like for like but they can't change something like alcantara for fabric. I'd be walking out the showroom and instructing my credit card company to give me my deposit back. Here's hoping my SE business is upgraded to full leather ;-)

The man I know who knows the man who knows the man who says he knows says they have been somewhat overtaken by the popularity of the car in the UK/Eire.

 

However, these sort of 'don't take orders' notices often occur for short periods in all sorts of production systems. Doesn't necessarily mean you won't get yours just that they dont want any more new orders for a while.

 

On top of all that the SE business spec has flown. Quite why they would be surprised at that is a mystery only their marketing people would understand. All the motoring press have been bigging it up since it was announced!

And on lease it's price is comparable to a poverty spec astra. Bargain.

Not wanting to upset folks whose Alcantara might be delayed, but despite this being a manufactured fabric, the name still makes me imagine herds of "Alcantaras" roaming around somewhere, or being factory farmed out the back of the VAG factories. Sort of a cross between a Llama and an Alpaca....:-)

I've been told that my car (SE Business) will come with leather/alcantara.

 

I queried after different parts of the Skoda website said different things.
