To all Mk111 owners Re: Coolant level

Featured Replies

Have any members had to take their cars back to the dealers to have the coolant level topped up. I ask after replying to a thread from a member with a Fabia 1.2 TSI who has been back 2/3 times to garage for a top up. When I checked my Fabia 1.2 TSI the level was well down the dealer topped it up yesterday, now waiting to see what happens. Another member on the same thread had a similar experience with their Fabia

If you did take it back for a refill did it solve the problem or did the level drop again enough for you to decide to take it back to the dealers Joe

You have forced me to check wife's new Polo 1.2TSI 110PS - I'd guessed that the level must be okay as I had not considered it to be an issue, sure enough, I checked it this morning with engine cold, strangely, from what you have commented on, the cold level is at least 1/2" above the Max marking! I have never ever added any liquid to it, though if I had, I don't think that I have ever filled a car up that high as normally it gets dumped out the bottle when the engine gets hot. I will keep an eye on it and report back with "hot level" etc.

Mine was opposite it was about half an inch below the minimum line and on it when hot, before I took it to dealers for top up Joe

Okay, when the engine was stopped after a 15 mile journey, the coolant level was half way up the "G13" logo on the header tank.

Is this on a New 1.2 TSI VW Polo rather than a Skoda 1.2 TSI Fabia,

and is this where the level was as the car came to you after the PDI?

(never changed?)

EDIT,

sorry, missed post #2.

There is a thread started by Molly56 "Fabia 1.2 tsi 90 Coolant level" I started this thread just in case any Skoda Mk111 owners had noticed any thing similar with their own cars. Joe

Yes, exactly.

Checked mine, cold, this afternoon. Exactly on the MIN mark, same as my Volvo used to be.
