Red oil pressure light issue

The 2 filters I've put on the car since I've owned it were both genuine VAG ones from TPS. I can only think this other valve and the gunk that had built up in it had cause the 2nd filter to fail so quickly.

As mentioned I've never come across this valve being mentioned in any of the threads regarding oil changes on the 2L TFSI but I'll be sure to be cleaning it out from now on.

I'm not going to go as far to say it's sorted, more like just temporarily sorted. I'll see how it goes for the rest of the week. I'm intrigued as well to see the state of the cam follower and find out what revision cam I have fitted.

In general on vag engines minimum 2 bar oil pressure at 80 degree's c. Always start with an oil pressure test. As for collapsed oil filter's I actually changed one that was collapsed on a 1200cc Corsa it can and does happen.

Change the cam follower and checked what revision cam I hae today and it's bad news.

Revision 'a' cam is fitted

And this is the state of the old follower compared to the new one

So replacing the cam with revision 'b' or another alternative is on the cards and I want to start making a list/gathering up parts/info to do this job.

At present I'm thinking new cam and cam follower definitely needed.

What about the timing chain and tensioner? Worth changing at the same time?

Anything else?
