1.2tsi induction kit.

Featured Replies

Good evening all, I've been searching the world wide web for induction kits for the 1.2tsi engine for my Monte. Keep coming back around in circles to the forge induction kit which I'm trying to avoid due to sucking in hot air from where it's postioned. Does anyone have an alternative as I'm at a loose end. Pictures would be great also if possible.

Looks really interesting I take it they are on sale now by the looks of things.

IMO I wouldn't go wasting cash. It all depends on what your after from adding the induction kit. If your after the whoosh and a bit more induction noise, a cheap open cone is th way to go.

Personally I had a k&n filter on for a week, just to see how it sounded. I took it off and went back to the airbox as the sound wasn't for me.

I'm currently running the standard airbox (internals not modified like some other members).

Hi jimbo, thanks for the reply. I am looking for a bit of both really performance and the sound. Sad as it sounds I want it to also look nice in the engine bay. I did look at the k&n 57s??? or something like that number. But mainly wanting performance.

Well don't expect a different car just from an intake upgrade. Judging from the ITG on my vRS I would say the true gains are minimal and if it weren't for the extra "whooosh" not practically noticeable. It is more the feeling that colder air makes it to the chambers (which considering the compression it receives probably most of that lower starting temp is lost anyway). It's just one of the first things people do when they get the bug... It would make more sense if you'd pair it with a remap, other than that I would agree with Jimbo that spending on an expensive intake with the intention of leaving everything else stock doesn't make much sense.

Cheers for the reply I have a remap being done on the 6th hence trying to get it sorted. Taking it to 130bhp.

If you have a mk3 fabia like what  e-roottoot suggests then It might not be much help. I've got both a mk1 and a mk2 fabia but but have exactly zero experience with mk3s.

Still, always love seeing peoples projects in the fabia projects section of the site.
