I didn't even realise he was doing another book so soon, time to hint for Christmas I think! The 'news' that he won't be riding the NW or TT in 2016 is not the most shocking, but it's a big decision for the man who still hasn't quite got to where he wanted on the TT podium anyway. I have been a Guy fan since before he became a celebrity and it's a shame to now see him get that win, but if it wasn't for the massive publicity he brought to the sport, I doubt he would have still had the big boys chasing after him to ride their machines personally. I hope to see him continue to do more of the sort of shows he has been doing for Channel 4 though, great bloke.

Ah dear! Nevermind though.

Yeah the new book is good. I started reading it tonight, just stopped at page 70. So far so good.. Had a few giggles too!

Word is that Dean Harrison is taking his ride at Tyco BMW next season, having just left Martrain.

Tony

There is a bit in the MCN this week with an excerpt from his book.

He has made a decision to do this mad cycle ride which takes lace at the same time as the North West and the TT but I think it looks like he will still do some of the other races as well.  I don't think it is set in stone as yet if you read the article and who knows what will happen other than Guy himself?

I think it would be sad to see him not win a TT but I also think he has (and still does) provided a lot of entertainment for a lot of people and he is obviously the sort of person who works to his own rule book.  He isn't a public relations officer's sweet dreams sort of person and he tells it like it is with no holds barred.  My kind of bloke really and refreshing to see someone with the honesty he has instead of all the corporate BS that we see nowadays.

Must buy the book as we had the last one and enjoyed it.

You could see the exit from the NW200 coming after Guy's comments last year around it being boring.

As for the TT, well, I am slightly disappointed that Guy won't be there as I personally think that he still has the best chance to win one whilst on board that beast of a BMW.  We will have to wait and see what he works out with TAS as he has talked about returning to the TT in 2017.

Might have to give the NW200 a miss next year and do the UGP instead

Nw200?

Chicane..chicane ..chicane..

I heard ;)

I've followed the exploits of guy Martin for years and the news that he's stepping down from the Nw and Tt isn't a surprise, he's more on the box now as a celeb than on his bike, he's better getting out now while he can still walk imo hopefully he will not get back on as it may end in tears, he has been a phenomenon on a bike but I've a feeling he'd push it to the limit until he wins the Tt or crashes so I'd prefer him to stay around
