Buying a late 2011 vRS - 3rd party extended warranty?

Featured Replies

I have just put down a deposit on a vRS today with a car supermarket and am being offered the extended warranty through the The Warranty Group.

I have read a lot of the engine issues on here in the last couple of hours so I am thinking of going down a 3 year extended warranty (only get 3 months as standard from the shop). The engine is a CAVE type and car has done just over 40K. I don't know of any engine replacements in its history.

Does anyone know how easy it might be to have any engine issues (replacement or the oil jet replacement) sorted through a non-Skoda warranty provider?

Probably should have looked into it a bit more before buying, but really enjoyed the test drive!

Cheers in advance.

If the car qualifies maybe looking at buying the Skoda Warranty.

As it is not only have you the 3 month Warranty they are giving now

But if the car was a bad one you will know that within the 30 days you now have to return faulty goods.

Thanks, just had a look at the link from another post and it's about £384 for the year, so will probably go down that route.

Surely not that much. A 2010 with 60,000 miles was nothing like that with Skoda for 12 months on the latest Warranty.

Welcome Nice looking motor make sure they do the mot it ran out two week ago wonder if they knew this when the test drive was done ?

Nice and a good price.

Check with Skoda UK Customer Services and see what Service & Warranty History they know,

& if any Service Campaign work is outstanding.

Seems fine on the recall side of things. I will be sure to contact customer services and find out what they know. Thanks for your help and suggestions—I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to cars.
