Anyone know how to remove these?

The Owners manual shows the black trim above the light being removed by the hub cap removal tool, revealing screws behind the trim.

I have tried to pull off the trim with the tool suggested also with trim removal tools.  I cannot see this coming off without damage to it.

Has anyone else removed these?

The O3 workshop manual says that all variants but the RS can be removed from the front - see attached upload, but I think this copy was before the scout was released so it maybe the same as the (v)RS - which seems to either need the headlight or the wheel liner removed to access from the back just to change the bulb by the look of it

I've got the ability to review both vRS and scout side by side here so will try and have a look but maybe a day or two before I see them both in daylight again.

I have tried to remove the trim as suggested in manual, but the cover will not move, it looks like the cover will break or be damaged before it comes loose!

If it is anything like the MkII you need to be brave, pull, pull a bit harder, and pull harder still.

 

Heating up the plastic with a heat gun (or the wife's hairdryer) will make the brittle clips a little more supple and reduce the likelihood of them breaking.
