Can anyone shed some light on Smartlink?

Featured Replies

I've ordered an RS230 a few weeks (not in the UK but in Slovakia) ago and amongst other things specced Mirrorlink, which was on the price list at the time (code 9WT).  However, the new price list (from 1.10.2015) no longer offers Mirrorlink, nor does it offer Smartlink.  I am now unsure whether I will get Smartlink at all, as my car will be built within the next few weeks.

I have been following the forum and there are numerous references that Smartlink will be activated in a few months time once codes are released.  Why do they simply not release the codes now?

Thanks!

Smartlink has now replaced mirrorlink, it was an option I went for when I ordered to save on the price of the amundsen. amundsen is now standard. They are working on rolling out the codes to the dealers imminently but as far as I'm aware you would have to pay what the option would have cost to have it activated.

Same difference, it used to be just mirrorlink but smartlink has amalgamated it all

Not really, they are three separate software solutions....hence the 3 different names. In the post above it said that Mirrorlink was "replaced", I was just pointing out that it wasn't replaced as it's still available via Smartlink.

Maybe I'm wrong but Smartlink is an interface to allow connectivity to the 3 applications.

My bad, that's what I meant, smartlink incorporates the 3
