Changing Fuel Filter on Felicia 1.9 GLi?

Featured Replies

Hi, Quick question. I can't get my hands on a haynes manual at the moment so I wondered if anyone can give me a quick how-to to change the fuel filter on a diesel Felicia (1997)?

1) Do I need to depressurise the system first? If so how?

2) Do I need to bleed the system afterwards? If so How?

3) I note there is a screw valve on the bottom of the canister - is this a water drain? How should I use it?

Sorry if this seems like fairly mundane questions but this is my first diesel - I usually work on large V8 gas motors.

Cheers

Simon

sorry simon only time in 180,000kms i changed mine........ got a garage to do it, was worried about clamping hoses to stop the spills etc.

shes knocking the door of 212,000 now and still banging, the polo gazole engine is very tough, hope the rest can keep up? i intend to keep her running to 500,000 if i can? 1000kms a tank nothing can beat. you get a good return from yours?

however a car i still have here thats an 89 Ibiza 1.2 has done now 380,400km all original engine and box....... tough as hell, electric windows had it but thats all :=

, i really abuse it and flog it to death any time i get in it, it keeps going....... dogs ate the rear seat, but no rust!!!!!!!
