Light Package Plus

Featured Replies

Question with regards to the Light Package Plus, I opted for this, and I have the interior door and dash lighting set to "Blue", which i love, the door mirror lighting is great as well, but in the options brochure it mentions "Door Handle Illumination", i have  not been able to find out how to get this to operate, does anyone have any idea, I have been through every menu option but have no joy.

Not surte if you have columbus. Thsi note is for Columbus. Go to car---settings(the cog wheel symbol)---background lighting. When at the screen you need to select TOTAL (below where you choose your colour) which should adjust all areas. Or you can touch the screen where the small dot/button shows in each area inc the door area and set bit by bit. see page 83 of the columbus manual.

If you are doing it in daylight you may not see it unless you have it set to max. I found it much easier when it was dark outside.

Hi,

Thank you for the quick reply, I have the SEL Executive, so yes, I have the Columbus Info Unit, I have set to Total and have also tried each area individually, being gadget freak, I have been in the garage, in the dark, all lights up except the door handles.

I had it as an option and its def their. Not uven sure if you have the option to turn it off and on. Try turning everything to full brightness.

Checked mine. They are definitely there, all four doors. It was dark out and, unlike the other interior lighting, they only came on with the ignition switched on. The light switch was set to O (off).

They are a fixed brightness and do not change with any of the Columbus interior lighting settings (footwell, door ambient, dash ambient).

If anyone is familiar with the "cats eyes" lighting of the Superb II, these are about the same brightness - very subtle.

Look at the roof of the alcove the door handle sits in and you should see the light source near the forward end.

I did notice something tonight I hadn't noticed before.

I have the door ambient lighting in blue (love it too) at about 75% brightness and the dash at about 50%.

When I open the door all the blue ambient lighting brightens up to 100%, then dims back to the preset levels when I close the door. Cool!

Thanks for the reply,  I have played around again tonight, and yes it is working, as you say, you cannot change the brightness of them,I have tried out all three colours for the Ambient Lighting, the Blue is the most striking., I had not noticed the change in brightness with the door open to door closed, as you say, cool.

Aren't we all  ...it's turning out to be the most fun I've ever had in a new car.
