rear brake upgrade

Featured Replies

Hello all i have just got my 07 vrs back from garage and they advised me my front and rear dics are badly corroded fronts i am not to bothered about as they are going to get a audi tt upgrade. What i would like to know is there a direct bolt on upgrade for the rear discs thanks

Just the same as the Audi TT upgrade but for the rear. The Audi ones need adaptors for the calipers but tones of other ones are a direct fit.

Octavia vrs front and rear bolt straight on, anniversary golf fit straight on, Audi s3. Plenty more I'm sure. 256mm vented rears I belive

As hutchy said, 256mm vented rears bolt straight on providing they are not from a quattro car (inc octy 4x4 and golf 4x4) and as long as they are from a car with 5x100 stud pattern.

I only include the last bit as the mk2 octavias share the same size brakes but becuase they have a 5x112 stud pattern the spacing on the caliper bolts dont match the holes on the hub :)

So apart from discs and calipers any other parts i would need

If you wanted to do it properly then you could replace the mud shields behind the disks so that they are the correct size to wrap around the edge of the 256mm disk. However the shields are quite costly and it involves splitting the hub from the axle I believe.

I just took a pair of pliers to mine and bent the edges of the original shields back so they don't hit the inside of the disk and left it like that. have been fine since
