Rear fog light only when lights on

Featured Replies

Hi, wondering if anyone had come across this problem before.

When I switch my lights on, I only get a rear fog light on the rear, all lights fine on the front, but no rear lights except the fog light. Indicators and brake lights working as the should.

Any suggestions would be great

Cheers

Have you checked the bulbs ?

I have checked all the bulbs and all seem ok.   just out of curiosity, what bulbs should be in the lowest section of the tail light?   If I am understanding this correctly, the lower sections of the light cluster is the tail lights and the fog lights combined, these should have 21w x 5w twin filament bulbs. Is this correct?

Have you got the Owner's Manual for the car?  If so look at page 222, 225 & 226.  It looks to me like you're wrong about twin-filament bulbs?

Snapshot from p222:

The Brake lights are at the top.

The Side Lights are next to the Indicators,

& the Fog Light at the Bottom on the Drivers side.

Reversing Light Bottom Passenger side.

Have you pushed in the Light Switch to put the Fog Light off, or check it is off?

...............

Try the 'Parking Lights'.

Ignition off and the Indicator Stalk down and see if one front and rear sidelight is on, and a single Number plate bulb.

?

What Fabia do you have?

I am just down in Forfar just now.

Hi all, thanks for your comments/suggestions. I have just realised I have posted this in the wrong forum DOH!   I have a Fabia 1..... Not sure if this makes any great odds, its still broken lol

Basically it is our wee work horse, receives little in the way of tender loving care, but just keeps going and going.

I will repost this in the proper section.

Cheers for your help
