Does anyone know if this update would work on a 2013 car which has software version 0421 currently installed on hardware version 040.

  • I have updated my Amundsen from 0435 to a newer version which can be found on the net. I don't want to share the link here to avoid deletion but I will kindly PM it together with the instructions.

  • If you have instructions they'd be appreciated

Mine got updated by the dealer last week and as I expected, it hasn't fixed the problem with it crashing when my phone is connected.

I did notice that the screen was dimmer afterwards, and found that there's a brightness setting for the display now which is separate to the dashboard illumination.

Not sure if that was there before or not, but I also found an option to display a clock on the screen when the stereo is turned off that I'd not seen before.

What version did you get?

Thanks aki78 the new file works like a charm!

I tried by usb this time.

Anyone seen anything for the Columbus above 0390 yet?

Nope, and I am looking :)

As soon as I do have anything I'll let you know

works fine without VCDS- I did mine yesterday. Might be my imagination but the maximum volume " ceiling " is now higher than before. I was on version 0182 earlier

Thanks Andy - still trying to source a Shark Fin that will do DAB and FM as well as the phone and Nav. The one I had on the Mk2 Columbus was geat but there was a design fault with them. Water would get in and kill them.

It's not necessary to post 'PM sent'. He'll know when he gets an alert.

DO you have to put it on the original Skoda NAV SD card as the car keeps saying no firmware found?

I've tried USB and SD to no avail.

No. I put it on my other normal SD card and took my music off it. Do you have the txt file and 3 folders in the root directory? Also make sure you insert it after you are at the menu, not before or it will not detect the SD card as having firmware.

As Chris4500uk said.

Should work with USB stick as well, others confirmed that.

Do you need to code anything with VCDS or does it work without?

thanks
Ed

Tried that, you've just got the update software button at the bottom of the page that gives the system information?

You can ignore the VCDS coding (doesn't affect functionality) but in this case your dealer will know what you did.

Update generates several fault codes in the system.

No Luck at all here :(

Hardware is 041, so I think it's a trip to the dealer in the new year.

Post a screenshot of the contents of the SD card with the firmware on

Is your card formatted to FAT32 file system?

believe so... that car says software update when you put the card in before being on that screen, but then puts up the message update files not found

Just to be sure..

Are you trying to update via the service menu, that is, holding the menu button and accessing the sw update menu?

There is another update menu under setup, but this will not work..

This was the setup menu.

I'll have a go the other way.
