If you won't mind posting a few pics, that would be great

Well here are the pics. I included one with the GPS antenna mounted under the edge of the wing it seems to work as well in there as on top of the bonnet.

I'm just being curios here, but why have you mounted an external GPS mouse, I agree it looks neat under the wing jsut never been in a car where they dont work on a dashboard.

I had a Garmin before I think it was a street pilot with the gps anteena that flips up at the back. It could never connect to more then 3 satellites and kept loosing its connection. From then on I wanted an external antenna.

The parrot gps antenna mounted outside often says it has a fix on 12 satellites. In any case an external antenna should offer far better reception.

Also I wanted a bluetooth gps reciever which would play the directions through the cars speakers. The ipaq using the headset BT profile and parrot ck3300 is ideal for this even though the stream head unit is a little slow kicking in.

My Mio A201 Sat NAv has the antenna built in too but it never seems to lock onto less than about 7 satellites. It has a socket for an external antenna but i can't see the need for it.

Got an Arkon powered mount with built in GPS receiver for Dell Axim X50v and always locks onto 8 satellites. (Mounted on dashboard to top RHS of stereo in front of vent).

- Re-attach the Quadlok connector to the radio and once in place double over the stripped copper strands on the 0.5mm2 cable and push as far as possible into the TEL MUTE pin position. A cable tie can then be applied to the loom to keep the mute cable in place. (Take care and do not insert the cable before the quadlok is locked in place as the exposed copper strands may short out with the other pins)

This connection method may appear a bit unconventional but hands free kit installers throughout the UK are using this means of connection to the radio mute connector. The correct pin and cable may be available from Skoda but I couldn

The correct cable for the 3B7 035 447B Plug is 000 979 010 or 000 979 010 A if you want gold terminals.

Earlier in this thread it says 000979003a for the green plug housing

I was after the plug, + & - inputs for the speakers, plus the right cable with pins to insert into the space for the tel mute (rather than the bare wire solution mentioned earlier). If that makes sense.

Or will I need 003 & 010 leads?

If you have a Stream MP3 then the mute is in a different location -

In which case it's the 12 pin Green 3B7 035 447B and wires 000 979 010

For MFD2, Audience or Stream you will need the 3B7 035 447B plug and 1 of 000 979 010 (Two terminals - one each end) wires. You will need 1 of 000 979 133 or 000 979 133 A wires for the telemute.

Thanks again Stu, missed the pics at the bottom of that page.

So based on that I'll need 2x 010's (as this is one cable isn't it?) + green connector block.

The cables come with two pre terminated ends. Simply cut them in half and use both ends. So you'll need one for each of the speaker wires and one for the mute. Two wires in total.

Many thanks.
