Acceleration fault

Featured Replies

Odd fault but recently I've had issue when accelerating. Took the Maf off and cleaned it, drove it yesterday and no joy. Still shakes and shudders when trying to accelerate. Was told to take the Maf off and drive it and see what happens. It drives fine but the traction control light came on at start up. Drive to my local supermarket and stopped then reconnected the Maf plug. It seems to accelerate fine but the light stays on. Also the temp gauge goes from 70-90 and back again. Does it all the time. I've no idea where to start. Help!!!!

Your traction control light is on as you ran with maf unplugged, mine did that too, they're strangely connected. Disconnect battery to clear. Are you saying it drives fine with maf unplugged? Sorry confused now...If so I'd say it's maf, if not then coolant temp sensor I'd say

Yeah drives fine but it's defaults to standard ecu setting.

Yeah so it's down on power but smooth when unplugged? Try a new or known working maf. Your temp gauge going up and down could be a separate issue, could be stat (if gradually up and down and cools when off gas $takes a while to warm up etc) or coolant temp sensor (if more abrupt fluctuations and running issues). Try the maf first and if smooth with temp fluctuations still I'd say sticky thermostat causing some overcooling and rich running which won't be helping a failing maf

Nice one. Thanks for the input.

I'd check codes, but strongly suspect the MAF and/or CTS as being faulty.
