two question about seats?

Featured Replies

Is there difference between RHD seats and LHD seats? Are these same and can i swap my LHD with RHD?

And can i install Fabia mk2 Monte CArlo seats to mk1 Fabia? Will these fit?

I believe the fronts will bolt straight in but the tears need work.

Mk2 rear seats go straight in.

They're the same.

And RHD and LHD i suppose it is the same?

Yes. The only difference would be that the UK the passenger side (left) doesn't tend to be height adjustable, so your drivers seat would be a fixed height.

I've just fitted a complete mark 2 monte carlo interior to my mk 1 vrs. Straight swap, took me a couple of hours at most. Best thing ( after hybrid turbo) I've ever done to it!! Lovely seats, massive improvement

Can you adjust passenger seat height?

IIRC, you *should be able to* swap the adjusting mechanism.

You can switch over the drivers height adjustment seat base so that you keep height adjustment even if you are looking to move worn seat materials to the passenger

At the lowest common demoninator you could have the seat base lowers into bits, removing the foam, seat cover etc from the actual metal framework including the height adjustment.

If its a case of changing over the good side material from one to the other, yes you can definitely achieve that if you wish to although it may require you having to remove the cover, hog clips etc so its all down to how much effort.

Although - if you are going to do that you might as well repair any problem foam, material etc ?

Any pictures? Are the monte carlo seats the same shape and design as the Mk2 vRS just without the vRS logo?

Yes it is only visual difference.

ANd what about mk3 seats? Are these different?

Seats are identical to the mk 2 vrs, as stated only visually the trim is slightly different ( stitching) and no vrs logo. I will get some pics sorted tomorrow guys, I'm up to my neck in rubble and plaster today....

Oh and both seats are height adjustable!

Sounds good to me, could live without the vRS logo if the trim colour was more serviceable!

Wonder if they do heated ones? Or with side airbags....?

I seen someone recently buy just the cloth covers from a mk2 Fabia and remove the cream vrs covers, it looked like they almost fitted perfectly really.

i think the heated option is abit of a chew on, seen a few people say they have fitted heated seats from other cars and want to wire them up, but rarley see anyone post the finished results saying they work. Steveopc did this recently but he hasnt posted much in a while.

Both seats have side airbags also.... Just can't wire them up!

Fronts, personally I think they suit the interior really well. Much firmer than the originals also. The storage box underseal and cd changer are also a straight swap.

Yes, straight swap front and rears. Even swapped the old under seat storage box and cd changer.

Both fronts also height adjustable

Even got round " finally " to fixing the leaking rear door carriers with the plumbers gold on the same day I sid the seats. Two weeks later feels like I've got a new car... .
