Leather

Featured Replies

GF has a new car to her. It's a 2012 DS4 with the cream / brown leather interior. It's only done 28k so not many miles. Leather looks good but suspect never been cleaned. So do I go for Gliptone twins or Dr Leather wipes?

This is the interior

Dr Leather for me all day!

Then a nice protector like Gtechniq L1 or Gyeon.

Gliptone for me

Always had great results and it leaves a lovely leather smell behind

+1 for Gliptone. Worked really well on my black leather seats. Reminds me, I want that new leather smell back again!!

I rated Gliptone until I tried something else. It smells great, but never found it had tremendous cleaning ability; even with a leather brush.

Never tried Dr Leather but the reviews are great, my favourite is Angelwax Heaven for Leather. It is good, although it doesn't come from a Leather Specialist Company like the others. But for me, it is miles better than Gliptone.

HTH buddy.

I moved from Gliptone to LTT products on leather sometime last year;

but also keep the Dr leather wipes handy that Ben recommended. :thumbup:

I have also just purchased the AD options now as the were half price in the sale;

but not sure when I will get chance to test them in anger for any comparison.

Worth bearing in mind that the Gliptone 'conditioner' is more or less useless as well.

I have said this on numerous threads but you cannot condition modern leather. All you need is a cleaner and a protector.

LTT products are also very good that Ste has recommended. Judy knows her stuff when it comes to leather!

Dr Leather for me

I use Croftgate Leather cleaner , its what Seat Surgeons of York use, they advised me most Leather cleaners and conditioners contain silicone which cracks and dries out the leather. They also said don't clean them too often either

Cheers Alan :thumbup:

LINK

Interestingly I'm pretty sure the owner of SS told me Croftgate were no more? Which was why he gave me 2 bottles of cleaning instead of 1, hey ho, at least I have the link provided above ^^ cheers for that
