Heated front screen - how well are they working?

Featured Replies

So, after a few frosty mornings, how are the front heated screens performing?

Also, how much of the screen does it clear? Or does it leave a section all of the way round the edge?

Thanks,

Steve

Was going to go out and test ours to answer your questions - but the ice has already gone, so another time :)

Have to say though, no visible wires in the screen. Think it's some sort of metal film type.

The ones we've had on our Focus and Mondeo before were the "fine wire" type - never bothered us but some people don't like them.

I've had my car 2 days and used the screen for the first time this morning. It worked perfectly. I didn't notice any bit being left. Literally just switched on and after 15 seconds turned the wipers on and it was clear. No complaints here.

Used this morning, clears the complete screen, faster than the rear!

I never liked the wired ones and didn't clear the screen so fast, shame there not on the front side windows.

You would have thought by now if it's a film inside the glass. Why hasn't the real ones been changed also to this type
