Boot latch rod clips...

Featured Replies

Morning

Been having a PITA with the tailgate on my Mk1 Octy VRS estate. The handle has stopped opening the boot, and so (having climbed into the boot, much the amusement of my 5-y/o) and removed the tailgate trim* it turns out to be one of the clips that secures the rod from the handle to the locking mechanism has broken.

All that's needed is a replacement plastic clip. I've circled two in the attached picture.

But can I find one? Can I heck.

TBH I don't even know the proper name for it. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

*and why is it that my tailgate trim, which has spent the last ten years falling off at the merest hint of a bump, now tries its best to emulate a limpet?

If your on Facebook search for Sean Kemp he works for TPS and might be able to help with the parts needed.

Thanks for the advice, but sadly I'm not on Facebook!

I've had a word with him for you and he's had a look and it does'nt look like the clips are available seperatley. Have a look at this picture though.
