Octy 2009 service - 6th service alarm battery change

Featured Replies

My Octy is going in for its 6th service this week. I noticed in the booklet that at 6 years the alarm battery gets changed. I know they tend to leak, anyone else had this done at a service? I have e-mailed the dealer to see if it gets done automatically but not heard from them yet.

I think the battery life is meant to be about 6 years, but the alarm unit is sealed and the battery is not technically replaceable.

I've never heard of it being changed at service time.

They won't change it unless you ask, and it would probably double the cost of the service if they did.

As long as the alarm works leave it alone.
