proof? that  the defeat device cheats EU tests too!

Not to mention proof that the testing regime is too predictable and thus too easy to work around.

Best test to check diesel emissions yourself for free!

 

Step 1. Wipe your finger inside a diesel exhaust tailpipe.

Step 2. Check oily black mess on finger.

Step 3. Try and see how hard it is to wash oily black mess off finger without scrubbing.

Conclusion. Oily black mess is also inside lungs and bronchial tubes. You cannot wash those. Panic sets in!!

Interesting to see they also tested another brand with a EU6 motor and couldn't get it anywhere near the limits its supposed to operate within.

 

Wonder what the long term fallout of all this will be, as some cars like our V40 Cross Country are not produced with a affordable petrol alternative (only petrol is a 254bhp 2.5T 4x4   )

Yeah its clear that other brands are just keeping their heads down and hoping they dont get found out officially as well.

If you thought ours was bad at 2 1/2 times the limit, the zafira went right off the scale !!!!!!!    and it didnt say what the scale max was ! and Opel said there must have been problems with the test gear, hah hah 

Why did the Panorama team have to go to the Czech Republic to use their facilities as they were banned from using the UK test rig?  The consumers association magazine Motoring Which? reviews vehicles and their tests always breach manufacturers figures on petrol and diesel models. This has been going on for years so why was it not spotted earlier?

I believe UK testing labs refused to co-operate with the BBC
