I'm a newbie so please bare with me. Anyone had issues with water ingress on an Octavia mk3? My vrs estate is on its second warranty claim in as many years. Dealer has replaced the panoramic sunroof frame and seal, at the same time as making a mess of the roof lining and side trims (needed replacing since now loose) and today following another visit to show the damp (and smelly) footwell, told me its still leaking from somewhere else and likely to need the dashboard out to diagnose! Where do I stand with this potential lemon - its on a 0% 42 month finance (with service and breakdown) deal. Going to escalate original complaint to Skoda UK following a miserable 'free service' credit as compensation for the inconvenience. Thanks in advance.

Would the drain hole....located around door hinge areas be getting blocked?

Thought this had been sorted by the dealer replacing a crimped drainage tube they noticed when replacing the loose trim for the second time....but now the rear glass panel of the sunroof is rattling and I can even push it down below the seal to see the frame! Regret not reading other threads on panoramic sunroof since I was hoping to keep this long-term. Skoda uk also confirmed extended warranty does not cover sunroof. Compensation of 1* monthly payments from Skoda Finance (c. £230 ish) and £350 credits on Skoda network from Skoda UK is all very well but I'd rather have some peace of mind that there won't be more problems in the future. Booked in again for Friday but popping down Monday in hope they can do something sooner given the gap and expected rain. Would gladly return it/trade in if I wouldn't be massively out of pocket!

How long have you had it?

Could you reject it under the new consumer rights act?

That covers faults in the first 30 days doesn't it and only came in to force in late 2015 IIRC?

Sounds like the dealer has made a right mess of replacing the pano roof, you shouldn't be able to move the glass panel!

Taking the dash out is a major operation, my first O3 was in the dealers for 10 days when they had to remove the dash to repair a damaged wiring loom (damaged at the factory when they fitted the dash in the first place). I had to push for them to replace the A panel trims that they broke when removing them and they kept coming loose at the top where they meet the headlining.

10 months in and the other side drain has now been replaced following another leak. All under warranty and took 2 weeks. Worry now is only 1 month left on warranty and extended doesn't cover sunroof. More complaints made with vwfinace (brilliant) and Skoda uk (useless). Will be writing to chief exec this time to see if I can get some reassurance of a high %goodwill payment if (when!?) it happens the next time. Either that or get ask them to check rear drains under warranty considering track record?

Were you provided with any written/printed document telling you the panoramic sunroof was not covered by the extended warranty? If not, I would argue strongly that in your case it is covered as you have no such contract document with them stating otherwise.

I keep reading posts on here about this not being covered, that is not covered, limited periods of warranty, etc. and it is becoming a matter of general concern. If the sunroof is not coverered, what about the doors and boot window seals should they become a problematic item? Are they not covered? I accept that there are areas where wear and tear becomes a factor but it seems to me there are occasions when we should be questioning 'is it fit for purpose', which in essence I think means you can raise such a concern at any time within six years.
