190 bhp AdBlue Range

Featured Replies

My wife wants to change her 'regular' vRS TSI for a 230 later on in the year. Either that or a 220 DSG Superb. What a time to be alive..... :D

Must be strange chopping and changing cars so often. You get used to a car and then it starts all over again with something else. Perpetual new car smell must be a bonus though.....

New car smell is actually something you want to get rid of as quickly as possible...volatile organic compounds...not good!

Sorry if this is a stupid question but where is the filler for AdBlue?

I have a 190 4x4 on order. Would it be worthwhile getting a small non drip bottle to start out with?

Next to the diesel filler. When I get mine I will just wait until the warning comes up and either fill up from a pump or a 10L bottle.

There you go.......

That's probably a Passat or something but it's almost identical to the Superb's filler. The OCD in me had to spin the cap on my car so the icons were facing the right way up  :D

It's not a problem getting it on the paint as long as it's washed off afterwards.

I wouldn't worry about getting any until the range is down to a few thousand miles or so. Mine has dropped by 500 miles after 800 driven but I've been really gentle with the car.

Thanks dstev2000. Did you buy a spring loaded bottle to re-fill? Cheers, Phil.

Been watching my range since I picked it up last Thursday

started with 7000 range

872 miles to date

range 7000 miles

I haven't made any decisions on the AdBlue refill method as yet. Still looking at a large bottle with a smaller bottle for actual filling up.

I've done just over 1100 miles and the AdBlue range has dropped from 7000 to 6000 miles so it's at least consistent with the mileage I'm currently doing.

Just refilled mine with just about 13-litres and the range now says 9,000 miles.

So, either the first lot is used faster so you only get 7,000 out of it, or Dealers don't actually supply it with more than 9-10litres at delivery - but don't say it isn't full! Mine implied it was when I queried them.

9,000 miles is of course very close to what the manual says it should be.

Mine arrived (4 miles on the clock) showing 8K miles, this dropped to 7.5K within the 1st couple of hundred miles though.

If it’s anything like filling a truck with adblue the last few litres takes a while to go in.

Just refilled mine for the second time at 8,600 miles.

Used the pump at Fleet services this time 9 litres at something like 82p a litre.

Took a bit longer because two lorry drivers had never seen a car that used AdBlue before and wanted a chat.

I'm coming up to or just tripped 1700 miles and my adblue is showing 6500 miles. Showed 7000 on collection with 100 miles on the clock (pre reg'd). I'm using Millers Ecomax diesel additive. Wondering if that is helping reduce emissions sufficiently to reduce the adblue needed? Going to keep an eye on this.
